Welcome to A Touch of Cinema.
My name is Jess and I am a student of Chinese Studies, formerly at Sheffield, then Nanjing, and now at London’s SOAS. I’m currently completing my MA in Chinese Film and Theatre and hope to get involved in Sino-British film distribution once I graduate.
This blog will be an exploration of Chinese cinema with reviews, essays and general thoughts on the distribution and reception of Chinese films.
As may be evident from the name of this blog, I’m a big fan of Jia Zhangke, and there will be a particular focus on his work.
